OLYMPUS
The Pinnacle Of Music Playback
Crafted for the discerning listener, Olympus represents a bold leap forward in digital audio excellence — a new-class music server platform designed to disappear between you and the music.

INNOVATION MEETS PERFECTION
Every element of Olympus has been engineered from the ground up to eliminate noise, reduce signal degradation, and deliver musical truth with astonishing fidelity. Here’s a closer look at what sets Olympus apart:
Custom Twin Battery Power Supply
Harnessing cutting-edge GaN FET technology, our in-house designed power supply offers over 90% power-conversion efficiency with exceptionally low noise and complete electrical isolation. The result? Absolute transparency and an inky black background that lets the music breathe with lifelike clarity.
A Unified Platform: Server + I/O
The Olympus Platform consists of two precision-engineered components:
- Olympus Server — the digital brain, optimized for pure audio data handling
- Olympus I/O — an external input/output interface that houses the XDMI and Network Output Cards for maximum performance isolation
Both are interconnected by our proprietary ultra-low-latency link for seamless, high-speed data transfer.
Extreme Direct Music Interface
At the heart of Olympus is the XDMI interface, a proprietary transport protocol that moves the audio bitstream directly over PCIe to the XDMI baseboard, bypassing the multiple layers of conversion, buffering, and jitter-prone processing found in typical USB or Ethernet-based systems. This bitstream is then converted natively via I2S, preserving timing integrity and minimizing phase noise — delivering a signal path that is brutally direct and musically immediate.
Extreme Network Isolation
Our Extreme Network Card features a precision-engineered SFP port and specialized software stack, purpose-built to eliminate external network interference. Every aspect — from hardware layout to packet handling — has been optimized for deterministic, low-jitter performance in high-end streaming scenarios.
QSFP-DD Ultra-High-Speed Link
When paired together, the Olympus Server and Olympus I/O communicate via a next-generation QSFP-DD interface — offering multi-lane, ultra-high-bandwidth data transfer with minimal latency. This design allows core processing and network functions to reside outside the main server chassis, significantly reducing electrical noise and elevating sonic performance to an entirely new level.
Olympus is more than a server — it’s a purpose-built audio architecture, meticulously engineered for uncompromised digital playback.
XDMI
EXTREME DIRECT MUSIC INTERFACE
At the heart of Olympus lies XDMI — a proprietary, ultra-low-latency interface designed to establish the most direct, uncompromised signal path possible between source and output.
Unlike conventional protocols, XDMI was engineered from the ground up for pure digital-to-digital and digital-to-analog audio conversion. By eliminating multiple intermediate stages — including typical USB stacks, buffer layers, and protocol translations — XDMI delivers the audio bitstream directly over PCIe to the output baseboard, where it is converted natively via I2S.
This radically simplified, streamlined signal path results in superior timing, reduced jitter, and a more honest musical presentation.
MODULAR DESIGN
Output Flexibility Without Compromise. The Olympus platform features user-swappable XDMI Output Boards, giving audiophiles the flexibility to tailor the system to their setup with no loss in performance. Standard module options include:
- Analog RCA Stereo Output Module
- Digital AES/EBU + SPDIF Output Module
Each module connects directly to the XDMI baseboard for a zero-compromise signal handoff.
CUSTOM DIRECT DAC CONNECTION
Optimized Output for Elite DA Converters. Olympus goes a step further with custom-engineered output modules designed for direct interfacing with world-class DACs — ensuring absolute signal purity and system synergy. Currently supported custom modules include:
- Lampizator Output Module
- MSB Output Module
These bespoke interconnects bypass standard digital interfaces entirely, establishing a lossless link from source to converter.
XDMI is not just an interface — it’s a new standard in digital audio signal integrity.

BPS
BATTERY POWER SUPPLY
The Olympus Server and I/O each feature dual independent Lithium Titanate Oxide (LTO) battery power supplies, managed by custom-engineered internal charging systems. Renowned for their outstanding safety, freedom from memory effects, and exceptional longevity, LTO batteries provide stable, reliable power and are designed to maintain peak performance for decades.
OLYMPUS SERVER BPS
The Olympus Server’s primary battery section powers the core system. It is designed to remain continuously charged, combining the technical advantages of battery power with the practical benefits of a compact battery architecture. This approach ensures a stable, low-noise power supply while maintaining long-term battery health and reliability.
The Server’s secondary battery section powers the XDMI Output Cards and operates in a traditional charge-and-discharge cycle. Dedicated exclusively to the audio output stage, it delivers up to 36 hours of uninterrupted battery operation on a single charge—more than sufficient to support even the longest listening sessions with pure battery power.
OLYMPUS I/O BPS
When the Olympus I/O is added to the system, the Server’s secondary battery section is reassigned to power the two QSFP Interface Cards that establish the high-speed connection between the Olympus Server and the I/O.
The Olympus I/O incorporates two additional independent Lithium Titanate Oxide (LTO) battery power supplies, supported by a custom-designed onboard charging system. The first battery section powers the Network Card, while the second powers the XDMI Output stage. Both battery sections operate in a traditional charge-and-discharge cycle and provide up to 36 hours of operation on a single charge. This ensures ample pure battery power for even the most demanding and extended listening sessions.

"Olympus does not sound digital or analog, but simply closer to the intended performance of the recording engineer"
The idea of having Jimi Hendrix in my room is interesting, but the goal is to travel in time and space and to be in Woodstock in person. (With the Olympus), we change the so called “they are here” experience with “you are there” and this is for me the goal of being in this hobby. Do expect that you will never go back. Tell your family they won’t see you any time soon. Stash food supplies and water.
Lukasz "Lampizator" Fikus
Olympus is the start of a brand-new S curve in digital audio, while Extreme is the absolute pinnacle of the last S curve that others are still catching up to. The benefit of upsampling is out the window with Olympus, which is both mind bending, and indicative of how much the world has changed with this new tech.
ray-dude
To be honest the difference is so obvious, I haven’t felt a need to plug the Extreme back in to compare – simply no need.

Yesterday, I received my black Olympus…I felt like a baby waiting for Santa:) !
It took literally 5 seconds to understand how much of an improvement the Olympus is over the Extreme.

What really convinced me to divert and go all-in on the Olympus/IO system is not the fantastic sound quality of the Olympus analog. Rather it was the realization that Taiko seems to be flying on a slipstream a little higher and faster than the competition.
Wil
Simply put: The Olympus is the most musical system I’ve ever heard. XDMI analog has the ability to convey all the emotional feels one can handle. Had me crying twice. The Extreme, as good as it is, and it’s damn good… Nope… Not close. Yup, I’m going to sell my dac…
RUIN*ish
I’ve heard many exclaim about the importance of the source. But until the Taiko Team’s razor sharp insights and advances in purifying the digital source, everyone else has been playing around the edges without addressing the root causes. Until now….Bravo Taiko!
cmarin
The improvement over my previous Extreme chain has been almost life-altering. I have had people come through who knew my system well who, after hearing the full Olympus chain, have gone away “haunted by how good it sounds.” So haunted that they placed Olympus orders too. 🙂
austinpop
The quality jump with the Olympus new architecture versus the best server before that – the former Taiko flagship Extreme – is quite shocking and hard to describe. The music simply sucks you in, like an industrial vacuum cleaner does a speck of dust. We are talking about entirely another level.
Golum
The Olympus with XDMI or USB is so friggin good that I defy anyone to pick out redbook from 24/192 or DSD 512. Everything and I mean everything sounds beyond amazing and is so emotionally engaging. I cannot stop listening to native XDMI. I hate to sound cliché, but this XDMI is something that must be heard to be believed.
Steve Williams
Wonder which XDMI output card to choose?
You only need one card, analog out:-)
