Extreme Switch

The new Taiko Audio Extreme Switch is an external network device intended to replace and optimize the direct ethernet interface to the Extreme. Milled from a solid block of copper.
The provided connectivity is one in and one out. To this end, the switch contains one SFP+ input module slot and one SFP+ output module slot that both can be fitted with a range of options.

The input SFP+ slot can be fitted with either an RJ-45 connector module or a Fiber connector module.
The output SFP+ slot can be fitted with either an RJ-45 connector module, a Fiber connector module, or a DAC Cable in a variety of lengths ranging from 0,5 – 7m.

Gigabit / 1000Mbps

The Taiko Extreme Switch facilitates a Gigabit / 1000Mbps SFP connection. It is not compatible with 100Mbps network components.

Extreme Network Card

The new Taiko Audio Extreme Network Card is a single-connection PCIe option board for the Extreme Server.

The Extreme Network Card is preferably installed in Slot 2, in place of the old SFP card. Power to the card is provided by a split DC cable that substitutes the single cable that powered the USB cable and will then power both the USB card and network card.

There is a single SFP+ module slot that can be fitted with either an RJ-45 connector module or a Fiber connector module.

Extreme Router

Housed in the same beautiful 22 x 22 x 5 cm / 9 x 9 x 2 inch solid copper chassis as the Taiko Audio Extreme Switch, the Taiko Audio Extreme Router yields a significant lowering of noise by controlling the amount and flow of data on the network.

The Router has a single WAN (“input”) network port, which connects to your home network to provide internet access for the audio network. It has 3 separately configurable outputs, one of which connects to your music server or, preferably, the Extreme Switch. the 2 others can be used for additional desired connectivity, such as for example, a dedicated wifi Access Point and/or a wired control computer.

All networking parameters can be defined and thus allow full control over the data stream being delivered to the Taiko Audio Extreme Switch and/or Extreme Music Server.

Extreme DC Power Distributor

With the Extreme DC Power Distributor, we designed a simple yet hugely effective power splitter with additional filtering that allows multiple devices to be powered from a single power supply while minimizing cross-contamination. The 3 different filter outputs allow the user to tune the sound towards getting a neutral balance even with varying power supplies and mains conditions or throughout component changes.

Each of the DCD’s filters provides over 80dB of additional noise filtering. The filter’s 64 parts have been selected by ear; some are exotic and costly, like Duelund capacitors, and each of these has a clearly audible effect on the Sound Quality.
